Cairngorm Explorer

The Cairngorm explorer exposes all the Cairngorm related classes in a Flex project grouped by area and type. The areas include business, model, view, control. The classes displayed are only classes with source defined in the project itself. Any Cairngorm derived classes defined in a SWC library (like the Cairngorm framework base classes) will not be displayed. Context menus are provided for classes and folders to add new Cairngorm classes, or for an existing class, go to source (open in editor), open in Flex Hierarchy Explorer, generate Flex unit test, or remove source file. Distinct icons denote the class or type respective Cairngorm area.

The Cairngorm Explorer is an integral part of the Enterprise Flex perspective. It is located by default in the lower left quadrant of the Flex Builder window, on the left of the main editor area and the lower task / problem view area. It is also available for display from other perspectives by clicking on the Cairngorm Explorer icon on the toolbar, by choosing the Show View menu item on the Window menu or by using the Show Cairngorm Explorer in the Enterprise Flex menu.

Usage

Select Enterprise IDE > Show Cairngorm Explorer View in the top menu or click the Cairngorm Explorer icon in the toolbar.

The Cairngorm Explorer View will appear. It is a standard eclipse view so it can be manipulated as any other Eclipse view, including dragging to a new position, maximizing, resizing etc. A drop down menu will show menu items for showing or hiding each Cairngorm area (business, model, view, control). As mentioned above right click on a class or an Cairngorm area or Cairngorm type to access the context menu.
