Mac OS X problems

Postby petr.fischer » Fri Feb 27, 2009 4:45 am

Hello, I installed EnterpriseIDE into Adobe Flex Builder 3 under Mac OS X Leoprad (10.5.6).

Problems:
1) Can't open preference pane for EnterpriseIDE. Error:

Unable to create the selected preference page.
Bad version number in .class file

2) Every menu item in EnterpriseIDE main menu gets "The chosen operation is not currently available".

Any workarounds? Thanks very much, pf

Hello Petr,

That build was mistakenly compiled with Java 6, Mac OS X has Java 5 built-in so the build is incompatible. I am about to post a new beta 3 build with new features and bug fixes. It would have been up already but the phpbb board was hacked. It should be up in a few hours however.

New build (beta3) is little better, but when I click on items in "Enterprise IDE" menu - no action, no error.
If I open "Enterprise IDE" perspective, this error occurs (in Cairngorm Explorer view):

Error creating the view.

Do you need more detailed user report or logs?

Petr,

Please make sure you are running the latest build, 1.0.8b3. (It was published on March 1st). You can do an update from the Help > Software Updates menu inside Flex Builder. The first beta 3 build published had problems, the current one should work correctly. You can also manually remove the enterprise ide feature and plugins from the eclipse subfolders before installing it again although that should not be necessary.

Let me know if you run 1.0.8b3 and still have problems.
Thank you,
Luis

Manually deleted enterprise IDE from disk, installed latest version from repository and nearly everything works nice now - ASDoc documentation generation generates nothing (empty subfolder "asdoc" created only).

Thanks, pf

ASDoc generation does have problems (known issue). After the 3.1 Flex SDK update it stopped working on the Mac basically, and on Windows it is erratic, it does not work all the time. I am considering removing the feature frankly because it has been overly complex to make it work consistently on all platforms. I am thinking of adding a new feature "generate ant build makefile for project" which would include a target for asdoc generation. That way it still provides some asdoc support but in a more feasible manner implementation-wise.
